GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP, MI -- An Ottawa County diversity group is claiming that a Grand Haven area man's political statement -- a lawn chair hanging from a tree -- is racially insensitive and should be taken down.
Leaders of the Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance have scheduled a "community conversation" public meeting next Thursday at the Grand Haven Community Center to discuss the issue.

I have no idea if this is or ever was true or not, but when we were kids we were told by our parents that it was against the law to tie a rope into a noose. So of course we all learned how to tie a noose. But we never left one laying around, because we really did believe it was illegal. I hadn't thought about this for the last 40 years until now!

According to Snopes, it isn’t illegal, although some folks on their forum say their parents taught them the same thing as yours, LOL.
There are about a half dozen empty chairs around Ottawa county that i have seen.
Yep - my mind kept going to places that make the connection - shoes, empty suits, chairs, cars, sneakers, eyeglasses - anything a Black may use or come in contact with will become racist as and when they decide it's convenient for it to be racist.
