Homeland Security Chairman Calls on Ambassador to UN to Resign

Meredith Shiner

House Homeland Security Chairman Peter King (R-N.Y.) tonight called on U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice to resign from her post in light of comments she made regarding the nature of the attack earlier this month on a U.S. consulate in Libya.

Rice, whose name has been floated as a potential replacement for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, told NBC and ABC on Sept. 16 that evidence at the time suggested the attacks that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were "spontaneous." Since then, President Barack Obama has indicated the attacks were, in fact, planned and are being considered "a terrorist attack."

"I believe this was such a failure of foreign policy message and leadership, such a misstatement of facts as were known at the time, and for her to go on all of those shows and to in effect be our spokesman to the world and to be misinforming the American people and our allies in countries around the world, to me, somebody has to pay the price for this," King told CNN. "I think we have to send a clear message and on such a vital as this, where an American ambassador is killed, whereby all the accumulation of evidence at the time, the presumption had to be it was terrorism. ... To rule out terrorism, to say it was not terrorism at the time, to me, was a terrible mistake to make, whether it was it was done intentionally or unintentionally, to show the significance of that, I believe [Rice] should resign.".......

I tend to agree - I’m assuming she was presenting the story the administration wanted her to tell. I’m sure they’d be quite happy to throw her under the bus if it would make this mess go away, though.

LibyaGate + FastAndFuriousGate = 6 dead Americans and over 200 Mexicans total.. I’d like to add the crew of 38(?) SEALs that went down in a chopper in Afghanistan too because I think that was a setup just like Benghazi. That was a non-military helicopter (CH53?) which lacked extra armor that the military equivalent (MH53?) has. Those SEALs were sitting in a death trap.

May as well add this one...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/mysterious-fatal-crash-provides-rare-glimpse-of-us-commandos-in-mali/2012/07/08/gJQAGO71WW_story.html

*snip*
Mysterious fatal crash offers rare look at U.S. commando presence in Mali

In many countries, including most in Africa, Special Operations forces work openly to distribute humanitarian aid and train local militaries. At times, the civil-affairs assignments can provide credible cover for clandestine counterterrorism units.

But in Mali, U.S. military personnel had ceased all training and civil-affairs work by the end of March, about a week after the country’s democratically elected president was overthrown in a military coup.

*snip*
Little details not adding up

At least two of the soldiers in Mali had been trained as communications or intelligence specialists.

Bast, the master sergeant, was a ham radio hobbyist who originally joined the Navy before switching to the Army several years ago. An Army spokesman described him as a “communications expert” and said he was posthumously given the Meritorious Service Medal but declined to say why.

Myrthil was a native of Haiti who joined the Army two decades ago. Military officials released virtually no details about his service record.

Utley, the captain, was a Kentucky native who joined the Army in 2002 to work as a signals and communications officer but later transferred to the Special Forces.

Friends said he had expected to deploy to Afghanistan last summer but received last-minute orders to go to Africa instead. His Mali assignment was scheduled to end this spring but was extended, they said.

Three weeks after the coup, on April 11, Utley sent a brief e-mail to a friend from college, Chris Atzinger, to report that he was all right and that he would write more later.

Atzinger said he and other friends of Utley’s were frustrated that the Army hasn’t given a clearer explanation of how he died. “Those little details don’t seem to add up,” Atzinger said. “All of us are resigned to the fact that we won’t ever know.”

Utley, a graduate of the University of Louisville, was a McConnell Scholar, part of a leadership program named after Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), the Senate minority leader. Less than a week after the fatal crash, McConnell gave a eulogy to Utley on the Senate floor, calling him “an American hero and patriot.”

Gary Gregg, director of the McConnell Center at the University of Louisville, called Utley a star student and “just a terrific kid.” But he said the official account of the crash didn’t make sense.

“It seems really dubious that six people died in a single-car accident. It’s just very fishy,” Gregg said in a telephone interview.

That knucklehead Whorealdo was on Fox and Friends this morning saying this was Obama’s ONLY foreign policy blunder. ONLY?

What about Fast and Furious? ONLY 1 Amercan died and ONLY around 200 Mexicans died.

What about the rules of engagement in Afghanistan? Our guys can’t shoot an enemy combatant if he doesn’t have a weapon? What, so he can pick it up again and shoot them in the back when they leave?

What about telling Medveded to wait until after the election before he can do Russia’s bidding?

What about bowing to every oil prince and tin horn dictator in the world?

What about abandoning our new allies in Eastern Europe (Poland, Romania, etc) and leaving them without an adequate anti-missile defense?

What about his constant snubbing of or Israeli ally?

Nah, he only had one, says Jerry Rivers.

Gay 1970’s porno star looking Moron.

Bolton was on Fox recently, and sort of came to her defense. He held the same position as Rice and said that when the White House tells you to say or do something, you do it or you lose your job.

So Bolton would have been a good German; goes along with his support of same sex marriage and homos in the military.

“Since then, President Barack Obama has indicated the attacks were, in fact, planned and are being considered “a terrorist attack.””

Wow, so Hussein has reportedly taken care of and addressed the problem and made sure we heard the truth, eh?

Under the bus Rice goes.

Notice how he only “indicated” it and didn’t SAY it.

They learned since Benghazi not to directly attribute to Hussein anything that might deeply offend his muslim buddies.

See? Big Media has SAVED lives!!!

“So Bolton would have been a good German”

No, he didn’t say that. He didn’t agree with what she did. He just wanted people to understand that she didn’t necessarily volunteer to go out and say what she did.

Why would Obama fire Rice...?

She was just following orders...

Why was even the UN ambassador speaking on the subject...?

The State dept... Should have been on the talking heads show....

I guess Hillary and her tools are a tad too bright to take the frontline flak...

I can imagine she told Obama to find someone else to paddle that BS...

Or get what he’s got coming for treason.

Though I don’t know if a non-citizen can commit treason. Then again, maybe he naturalized at some point.
