She hit a home run with death panels, but when I heard her, her analysis was philosophically sound, but she didn't seem to do the background work on statistics and specifics of the issues to put her on a par with someone like Dick Morris or Bernie Goldberg. In short, I think she squandered a good opportunity.
Sarah had two problems that were news to me (and maybe to her). One, insecure women hated her. Two, megalopolitan Atlantic-Slope society, where knowing where to find good bagels counts more than knowing how to clean fish or gut a deer, hated her. They despise everything she stands for -- because, basically, those cities are full of ethnics that never apparently left Europe attitudinally and don't really get, like, appreciate, or want anything to do with America west of the Blue Ridge. That's oversimplifying, but it's basically true, and it reveals two big weaknesses in her appeal that explain the viciousness of the Eastern press, especially the elite press and opinion.
Whaddayamean -- she didn't go to an Ivy? Or even Georgetown?! Whatta bum! Whatta bumpkin! Natty Bumppo in heels -- how droll!!
eyes rolling. concern troll much?
You KNOW why she left the gov seat in Alaska. C’mon, tell the truth. That’s a good little boy, you can tell the audience the whole story. Just rent the DVD “The Undefeated”.
That’s right, tell the grown ups the real reasons and not DNC talking points.
Got a Scooby snack for you if you can get it right the first time.
Good doggie.
You're right, during the height of that bus tour, Hannity was on location, in Iowa I think for the straw poll, asking the crowd if they wanted Palin to run, and he was visibly shocked when the crowd loudly voted no.
But, if Romney loses, everyone who backed him in the primary will be doing some major soul-searching, and Sarah will be the beneficiary of that. The only reason Romney won was because voters bought into the "electability" meme, which was always a crock, but was pushed big for still-unclear reasons by Fox, Drudge, National Review and other RINO conservative media outlets. The idea was they would do their best to smear every other candidate, and then claim Romney was more electable because no one was smearing him (except his less well-funded primary opponents). If the moderate Mormon from Massachusetts fails, next time it seems likely conservatives are going to do the right thing and vote their hearts. Because if YOU don't feel anything for a candidate, why would you ever think other voters in a different election would?
