Nice chart.
12 out of 16 times, Catholics ‘picked’ the winner.
This is a classic swing electorate. If you look at 1948 and the 1960s, they were more Democrat-leaning, they have shifted to being swing voters over time.

WOW - I just looked at that graphi “Catholic Vote” again.
If you add ~3% to the Catholic’s “GOP vote for President” and then compare to their vote for the Dem, EVERY single election is accurately represented! (Eg., shift the red line “up” uniformly by a few percent.)
Correct me if I am wrong about my thinking here!
