Gov. Jerry Brown has signed a bill requiring foster parents and other care givers to undergo training in "cultural competency and sensitivity" regarding lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth.

The bill by Assemblyman Tom Ammiano (D-San Francisco) has been controversial, with some conservative activists saying it will discourage adults from volunteering as foster parents.

I’m sorry but by definition people volunteering to be foster parents are sensitive and caring. Otherwise they wouldn’t open up their lives and their homes to a child that isn’t theirs.

Isn’t Jerry light in his loafers?

GIBLET Training classes. Waste of O2. Instead, send those subhuman deviants/perverts/filth to "camps" for composting.

Sounds like clever ‘stop loss’- more kids stay with the state so the state gets the money, rather than the foster parents, and they ensure they grow up to be good little sheeple libs.

It used to be considered corrupting a minor to encourage them to engage in homosexuality.

Now it is against the laws of the state to try to talk them out of it.

The perverts have won.

It’s the most pressing issue of the day. For awhile, I’ve been worried that California was going to get into serious trouble — but now that the governor is dealing with the big stuff, I feel confident that the state will do just fine.

Isn’t Jerry a Catholic who, at one time, worked with Mother Theresa?

CH, I'm strongly opposed to the content of the GLBT "training" that CA will require. And I agree with Randy Thomasson that this will discourage good foster parents who don't ewant to be conscripted into "affirming" sexual disorders.

However, your comment is way out of line. Kids who suffer from sex and gender confusion are not "subhuman filth". God forbid that I should ever fail to come to their defense. Most so-called "gay" kids have been abused, and the younger they are when they start exhibiting disturbed traits, the more likely that they have been seriously hurt by some older kid or adult.

They need help to overcome their difficulties, avoid morally objectionable behavior, and advance toward the good future that God wants for them.

You ought not expressing such contempt for foster kids who already have plenty of crosses to bear.

Sorry, I should have better qualified that statement. I was referring to the enabling adults and others preying on younger kids, who are still conflicted. After re-reading what I wrote, what I meant was obviously missing.

OK. I too believe the influence of the adult "enablers" --- very much including people in the "health care", "counseling" , "public service" and "education" fields --- is criminal.

We have to find some way to (1)Stop their influence (2)Show them the truth about the evil they are cooperating with (3) turn them around: a real conversion.

I was on the other side, 40 years ago. So I know conversion is possible.

Jerry could have been a defrocked Catholic priest for all I know. He definitely has an unusual defunctional brain.
