Chicago looks to Twitter for answer to gun problem

CHICAGO — The city of Chicago is asking residents with ideas on how to get illegal guns off the streets to share their thoughts — in 140 characters or fewer on Twitter.

The initiative is part of Chicago Ideas Week, an annual forum for innovators, artists, scientists and others to share ideas and inspire action.

What do they mean by “illegal guns?” Were they manufactured in someone’s basement? Or, do they mean “illegally-owned guns?” If that is the case, how are they “illegally owned?” If it's because Chicago's draconian gun laws criminalize guns themselves, en masse, the answer is simple: Decriminalize those guns. If “illegal guns” refer to illegally-owned guns (i.e., guns owned by felons, confirmed psychopaths, illegal aliens, etc.) then simply enforce the law against the perpetrators.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Chicago already have some of the strictest "gun control" laws around? If so then I'm afraid the genie is out of the bottle. Chicago's gangbanger culture is beyond redemption given the prevailing political atmosphere..

Just put A LOT MORE LEGAL GUNS on the street. The good guys will kill a number of the bad guys and the numbers will start to drop.

Of course, you will have to teach a lot of liberals to shoot and carry first, so maybe it won’t work. Guns are eeevil.
