...as if the police stations are floating on shock absorbers or something.

I always got a kick out when I heard on the radio there that police are getting reports of an earthquake.

In California when they have a big earthquake everyone calls into the police to let them know.

Not so much anymore. Now we jump to USGS' Did You Feel It? site and log what we felt. It generates some pretty cool shaking maps as a result.

Note. Not to be confused with "Oooh, baby, did you feel it too?"
