I'm a son of Asian immigrants, and I think it's absolutely vile that this kid is coming back to Canada. I also think it's vile that the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that the govt had violated his rights by not seeking his release. Courts shouldn't stay isolated from public opinion, because otherwise they undermine their own credibility and public confidence in them. Without public confidence, any constitution or constitutional authority is reduced to mere printed pieces of paper. When you commit treason, there should be no second chance or reprieve. Multiculturalism is destroying the moral foundation of the country.

I hope the RCMP / Cdn. Security Service will interview this turkey right after he gets out of jail, to find out if he still supports a radical Islamist agenda - and if so, then have him declared “a dangerous offender”, and locked away permanently.

Individual vigilantism can occur at any time, but by definition is the product of perceived unfairness and partiality. Importantly, group vigilantism almost never begins violently, except spontaneously during the commission of a crime, ending when the criminal is detained or killed.
At any time, group vigilantism can be halted simply by the government doing its job.
Typically, vigilantism begins as a petition to government that they should fairly enforce the law. When this is ignored, the public joins organizations like “block watches”, observing and reporting the activities of criminals to the government.
When this is ignored, the public attempts to use ordinary means to replace the defective government. But in many cases, the government is so entrenched and corrupt in its power, this cannot be done.
This typically results in the formation of a real, though still non-violent, vigilante organization. Their purpose is to make it difficult for criminals to operate in their area. Driving away and shaming customers for example.
At this point, if government still resists, it is because it is complicit with the criminal behavior. As such, it sees the vigilante organization as a threat to its power. Thus it may try to shut down the organization, or coerce or even arrest its leaders. It may even advise the criminals who to target for harassment.
This usually does not drive the vigilante organization to violence. Only when the criminals or the government decide to attack and kill some of the vigilantes is the final straw broken.
The vigilante group becomes a mob. But after all of this, their intent is still just to drive out the criminals, and maybe the corrupt government, from the area. And only if they meet armed resistance from either do they finally become the violent mob that considerable efforts are made to associate with all forms of vigilantism, after the fact.
The violent mob usually works, however. Most criminals are cowards, and there are too few police unsympathetic with the mob to stop them. Criminals who are captured are hung or shot, and within a day, general public order is restored in the absence of government.
Only after this point does a superior government usually enter the situation, demanding to know who the vigilantes are so they can be arrested. But after some inquiry, and the establishment of a new local government, retribution, if any, is limited. Though the old government always demands power back, this is seldom granted.
In this case, because the Canadian government has not made it a practice to do this, the biggest threat to the criminal is individual retribution, either inside prison, or after he is released.
