Democratic National Committee predicts Romney will win first debate vs. Obama

It's a further lowering of expectations ahead of the first debate in Denver next week. Democratic National Committee spokesman Brad Woodhouse tells Fox News he thinks Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will win.

Woodhouse says the way the DNC sees it, challengers win the first debate when they are up against incumbents.

"Mitt Romney has had a lot more time to debate, the president has not debated in the past four years in terms, of a campaign debate. I think the president will hold his own, but he's not known for sound bites. And these are 60 second, 90 second responses."

Ok, I am confused I just read a few days ago that Romney will lose the debate. Is this going to be like the Olympic badminton competition where both teams tried to throw the match.

LOL!!!! Post of the day!!!

“I think the president will hold his own, but he’s not known for sound bites”

No, he’s not known for being able to put together a coherent sentence without a teleprompter.

BO’s supporters won’t be watching the debates. They’ll wait for the Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert synopsis of them.

The very idea that these sorts of appearences are
called “debates” is stupid.

Give then each a premise and let them state their
position and why the other is wrong.

Otherwise, these are just campaign stunts.

The President is a slack jawed , stuttering imbecile who has a problem formulating sentences! He can’t think on his feet and he is lazy as the day is long!

And one of my lib friends just yesterday said he was a “good debater”...

As you might imagine he is a PBS/NPR listener....:^)

Its also a chance for Romney to bring a little ‘education’ to the process. Give the audience the unbiased, non-spin, outside the LSM facts about the Obama failures in plain terms and keep hammering away on Bams record of failure. Its a target-rich enviroment of material. Maybe he wins over a few more Indies at best.

Yes when the Moderator asks Romney a question that is totally biased and rediculous, Romney needs to hit back and say “ I thought this is a debate about the state of American and the things this administration has done and who has a better vision of the future for the American People”. And watch the moderators head explode and Obama look like a dumbass stoner staring at Romney cluelessly.

Remembering president debates 4 years ago I’ll doubt Romney wins till they’re over.

Just like last time the questioning panel are all leftists and in 2008 that’s just what Obie needed to win.

Granted the GOP candidates are diametric opposites, but will bias win out again?

I think Obama’s Achilles Heel is his thin skin. He hates it when anyone disagrees with him or calls him out on a lie. Every single time when he has been challenged is a concrete, articulate way, he has come across as a bitter tool.
Romney’s goal has to be to prevent Obama getting under his skin, while riling the president up until he makes a big gaffe like
“I’ll kick your ass!”
He apparently once said that to a Chicago lawmaker who had disagreed with him.

They are doing this for two reasons. First, if Obama truly stinks it up and Romney wastes him in the debate, they can run with the story that they believed Romney would win from the start, thereby marginalizing Romney’s performance. Second, if Romney underperforms in the debate, they can come back and say that they believed he would do better than he did and then run with the story that ‘maybe he’s not that strong a candidate after all’. It’s all an attempt to marginalize the debates.

Take this to the bank: No matter how well Romney does, immediately after the first debate, the “media” will — as directed — report that Romney desperately needed a knockout but failed. They will marvel at Obama`s ability to take a verbal punch and counter it.

They`ll “give the edge” to Obama. The “media`s” response will have all the suspense of that phantom 2/3 majority voice vote for re-inserting God`s name into the dems` platform at the convention.

Mr. President, what is the latest information on Libya?

"Uh, video, uh, uh, slander, ya know, uh, er, video, ya know, uh, er, ah, uh."

Thank you, Mr. President.

Gov. Romney, you have 30 seconds to respond.
