Pushing for the E.O. just prior to our Presidential election would be my bet.

Rest assured, America. The Obama administration is working feverishly to figure out how...

...to make this Mitt Romney’s fault.

White House spokesmen had no immediate comment on the cyber attack, or on whether President Obama was notified of the incident.

Major breech ping! Our nuclear codes and all presidential communications to name a few. Apparently Obama hasn’t answered this 3:00 am phone call either! Happened earlier this month yet:

“White House spokesmen had no immediate comment on the cyber attack, or on whether President Obama was notified of the incident.”

Unfreakenbelievable!!

Did the Chinese break into Bammie’s IPad...the one he gets his security briefings on?

His password is probably something complicated like: “me” or “I” or “BO” or “#1”.

So the new TV series “Last resort” becomes less far-fetched.

Bill Gertz is an exceedingly unreliable source.

And if you parse the article a lot of what is claimed is pretty thin.

Any office has both unclassified and classified networks - you can have a lot of sensitive data on an unclass network, but it’s not nearly as bad as actually getting on the classified network.

Reading the article and parsing the wording, if this actually happened at all (and with Gertz this is doubtful to begin with) I think the unclass network was compromised but Gertz threw in a lot of wording to make it sound like their classified network was compromised, to make it seem like a more exciting story.

So much for Obama’s “foreign policy” making countries more friendly to the US.

Actually this office would have three levels of network, Unclass, Secret, and Top Secret.

Even if the Secret network were breached that doesn’t breach the Top Secret network, where most of the highly sensitive stuff the article mentions were held.

"...or on whether President Obama was notified of the incident.”

lol; Was Valerie Jarrett notified?

Was just reading this article. Drudge is carrying it.

"accessed the computer network used by the White House Military Office (WHMO), the president’s military office in charge of some of the government’s most sensitive communications, including strategic nuclear commands. The office also arranges presidential communications and travel, and inter-government teleconferences involving senior policy and intelligence officials."

“This is the most sensitive office in the U.S. government,”

Security officials are investigating the breach and have not yet determined the damage that may have been cause.

The office is also in charge of the White House Communications Agency, which handles all presidential telephone, radio, and digital communications, as well as airlift operations through both fixed-wing and helicopter aircraft.

Bill Gertz is an exceedingly unreliable source.

Evidence? I can point to a number of Gertz articles that are pretty accurate though not earth shattering (e.g. where he quotes named sources)

I have always liked Gertz myself. The bigger problem IMHO is that this WH is an extremely unreliable bunch. We will likely never know what happened and should not trust anything that the WH says on the matter either
