New Romney ad features Obama’s ‘war on coal’

Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney has released a new television ad  targeting President Barack Obama’s “war on coal” to remind voters in the key swing states of Ohio and Pennsylvania the incumbent Democrat is not a fan of the industry.

The ad titled “Bankrupt” said, “President Obama is attacking Mitt Romney because Mitt Romney supports coal miners. In 2008, Barack Obama said building a coal-powered plant will bankrupt you. President Obama wages war on coal while we lose jobs to China. We can’t afford four more years.”

An estimated 2,000 in the coal industry have lost their jobs this year, another 7,000 jobs are expected to be cut if a new rule takes effect regulating stream buffer zones.

The ad recaps comments Obama made in 2008: “If somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can. It’s just that it will bankrupt them…”

Policies issued by the Environmental Protection Agency affecting the coal industry have so annoyed leaders of the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) they have so far refused to endorse Obama for a second term.

By all means, these issues are simple enough for anyone to understand.

Should read: “ Obama’s war on energy production continues”. Cut off energy, and you can bring a country to its knees, which is exactly what obama and has communist ilk want to do.

Need to post this - out of his own mouth - to remind people it isn’t just the miners jobs that will be affected - but every single household - dah!

And for cripes sake, remind people that gas/heating oil prices DIRECTLY raises FOOD prices. People just don’t get it.

they need to be sledgehammered

Great Ad!

Simple, effective, and uses the Kenyan’s own words.

The most effective “negative” political ads is when the opponents own words are used against them. Very effective ad and Obama’s words over the past four years should produce for the Romney campaign a slew of similar ads over the next five weeks.

Yes...and include the fact they lost their health insurance, etc. when they lost their jobs.

Go into a town where the mines have closed and interview families, townspeople where the economy is dying and the town itself as a direct result of the policies...with the closing remarks “Either Barack Obama doesn’t understand how his policies affect ordinary working Americans, or he just doesn’t care”...these can be aired in other states, not just the states where this is actually happening to show the untold story of the economy the media is not showing. Same thing can be done for laid off student loan company employees, medical device companies, people with special needs children having their expenses raised because Obama is significantly capping the Flexible Spending Accounts, etc. Same closing remarks on each one as a theme “Either Barack Obama doesn’t understand how his policies affect ordinary working Americans, or he just doesn’t care.”

Why yes it is when burned over hear...otherwise it will just be used overseas in places with less or no environmental regulations. Coal power plants power things like recycling centers and sewage treatment plants.

By the way...you aren’t fooling me or anything else.

Thanks for stopping by doofus.

Gives me the opportunity to remind you that, at least for a day, Omugabe thought so too!

We are the Saudi Arabia of coal. We've got more coal than just about anybody else.

This is America. We figured out how to put a man on the moon in ten years. You can't tell me we can't figure out how to burn coal, that we mine right here in the United States of America, and make it work. We can do that.

The thing this ad misses is that the quote by Obama impels higher heating and home cooling costs - it takes food and entertainment money out of middle income Americans pockets and forces their costs of living higher. Romney needs to make the linkage crystal clear - that obamas policies are raising every American’s living costs.

Must be in response to the Obama ad showing Romney railing against a Coal Fired Plant in MA when he was Governor.

Both of you guys are spot on.
“Yes...and include the fact they lost their health insurance, etc. when they lost their jobs.

When will Romney and his advisers grow a pair of balls, take the gloves off and go for the jugular.....as Bath House Barry is doing. If the Romney campaign continues the way they are, look for a repeat of Juan Mc Cain in 2012.
Why is the Romney so wussified in campaigning.....do they have some block buster strategy they are holding back until later?
