California Governor Jerry Brown vetoed an immigration measure dubbed the "anti-Arizona" bill late on Sunday that would shield some illegal immigrants from federal status checks.
The bill would have prohibited local authorities from honoring federal detention requests, which may lead to deportation proceedings, on illegal immigrants unless those individuals were charged or convicted of a serious or violent felony.
Supporters said the measure would have served as a counterpoint for what they say is racial profiling inherent in an Arizona law that cracks down on illegal immigration that was allowed to stand by the U.S. Supreme Court earlier this summer.
In his veto message, Brown said that, while he supports comprehensive immigration reform, the bill was "fatally flawed" by exempted individuals who had committed crimes such as child abuse, drug trafficking and selling weapons.

It was done for a loooong time now. I couldn’t even believe the chutzpah on this DMV clerk years ago to ask me if I wanted the test in English or “other”..
You have my sympathy. I wonder what cops in other states will do when an illegal hands them a CA driver’s license? The AGs of other states should sue CA for the trouble it will cause them.
I’d love to move to maybe Texas(it would be nice living in a red state for once) but all of my family is here so it would be hard to leave but it’s very bad here..can’t find work, overrun with seiu thugs it stinks
It can be very hard to leave family. Even harder to get them all to move too sometimes. I still like CO but I can’t call it a red state anymore. I like NM better even though it’s a doggone blue state. NM is weird that way. Doesn’t seem blue when you’re there.
I did send a letter to him expressing my concerns about the bill...Whatever...In any case, the bill is vetoed...

This is the kind of statement that’s such an insanely stupid and brazen, worthless lie that it should be legal to punch whoever said it straight in the face.
It's all part of the socialist plan to collapse America and replace it with some sort of massive welfare state. Who knows what they've got in mind, but the elite socialists will do just fine.
My recommendation is to look outside the state for work and move. The CA economy is not going to get better soon. Your family will come to understand. A precious few of us have vast means with which to survive prolonged unemployment.
The fat cats always stay fat. No one should ever wonder why those who think they have a seat at the table are willing to vote for destruction. As long as they keep their seat they will be fat.
