I don't see how it does; it raises expectations and we know Romney will be treated as the loser immediately.

I haven't any idea how the debate will go.

I didn't watch the 2008 debates; I dread these more than any in memory because the stakes are so high.

I will predict with total certainty that after the debate, Gov. Christie will declare Romney the winner. Even if Mitt were to walk on stage having forgot to put on his pants, mumbles incoherent phrases spiked with racist comments, and endorses Obama for President while Obama comes across as the modern-day Abraham Lincoln or Winston Churchill, Christie will declare Mitt the winner. (Of course, Obama’s handlers will do the same regardless of how poorly Obama does.)
