I would be interested in knowing how two people can agree on the substantive issues be as different as “night and day”. It would seem to me - and to most thinkjing people - that to be as different as “night and day”, the two would have to disagree, in fact, rather than in words.

In politics, words mean, to paraphrase Humpty Dumpty in Alice in Wonderland: just what politicians choose it to mean — neither more nor less. And whenever and wherever they choose.
