French President François Hollande faced his first serious public backlash after up to 50,000 lined the streets of Paris on Sunday (30 September) in protest against his €37 billion austerity budget.

Organizers of the event, which brought together around 60 left-wing groups, claimed that 50,000 protesters took to the streets to denounce the cuts program.

"Today is the day the French people launch a movement against the politics of austerity," said the Front de Gauche president, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who finished fourth in the Presidential elections. …

Should have carpet-bombed the leftists bastards. Any day you can nail 50,000 of them at one time, is a good day.

The French are the most spoiled people on earth, don’t appreciate anything they have, always want more for less, and only make their national flag in one color, WHITE.

Perhaps of they regained the work ethic, their country would be taken seriously.

My wife’s father is a direct descendant of Charlemagne’s brother and of Charles Martel. Most Frenchmen have forgotten what these men did to save France and western civilization from the Moslem invaders.

Today the French welcome the Moslems in with open arms, and receive molotov cocktails and small arms fire in return.

How low the French Republic has fallen in so few years.

Stopping eating Brie and snails. Makes you act and sound funny. Bad breath too.

So let me get this straight...

The left-wing "conservative" (only by "French standards") Nicholas Sarkozy is ousted by the even more left-wing "Socialist" François Hollande (whom Sarko cheerleaders on FR claim will be a horrible marxist and make us wish the Obama loving/Netanyahu hating Sarko was still in power).

But instead, Hollande cuts the President's salary and embarks on an "austerity budget", so "around 60 left-wing groups" are protesting the "Socialist" President for not being "left-wing" enough.

Man that country is deranged. I'm not sure what's worse, the lunatics protesting Hollande or the freepers who fawned over Sarko and claimed that treasonous nation was our pal as long as he was in power.

This is what the socialist rubber band looks like when it snaps back.

I’ve had to remind Sarko cheerleaders about the Netanyahu comments out of him myself, as well as his subservience to Berlin.

They always excused his treasonous behavior by claiming he behaved that way because it's the required to get elected in France. Of course, that doesn't explain Sarko's love of the EU when polls have consistently shown that French citizens overall dislike and distrust them, and other left-wing positions he's taken that don't have a clear majority of public support in France.

And Hollande being protested by left-wing groups because of his "austerity budget"? I thought they said "austerity" was DOOOOOOOOOOMED if Sarko lost and that left-wing groups LOVED Hollande? Apparently not.

What's scary is the self-described "Socialist" Party in France has actually done some good things (pay cuts to government employees, etc.) that the French "conservatives" like Sarko and Chirac wouldn't be caught dead doing.
