Aggravated Robbery:
Around 11:30pm Saturday night, a 23 year old male was robbed after parking his car in a parking lot in the 800 block of West Market Street. The victim reported he noticed a gold car parked next to his vehicle with two males inside. The males then pulled masks over their faces and approached the victims car. One suspect opened the passenger side door of the victims car and pointed a gun at him. The victim, a Carry Concealed Permit holder, pulled out his gun and pointed it at the suspect. The suspects ran back to their vehicle and fled. The victim gave responding officers information on the suspects vehicle.
Nothing was taken during the robbery.
Detectives are following up on the information given to the responding officers after the robbery.

You can even do it at home. Next phase is on the range.
Unless it’s Halloween, right.
In New Jersey he’d be under arrest for “brandishing” his firearm, assuming he was even able to get a carry permit.
The gold car tells me everything I need to know as to what happened.
There is a lot to be said about being aware of your surroundings. Parking next to a gold car with two black males in it was probably not the smartest thing to do. I agree with you that it is highly probable that he could be charged with brandishing. From the article it does not seem that he tried to de-escalate or leave the area before confronting the aggressors with his firearm. They could have very easily shot him if they had the drop on him.
