Political donors connected to the National Football League have donated more money to Republicans than Democrats according to a recent tally from the Sunlight Foundation.

According to the report, team employees, including players, owners and staff, have donated over $1.5 million for this election cycle. But Republicans received nearly three times as much from donors associated with football teams as did Democrats.

Eleven of the NFL team owners favor Romney, according to FEC campaign records – compiled by Business Insider’s Walter Hickey in September. These donors have donated directly to Romney’s campaign or through the Republican National Committee.

One is glorified and the other isn’t because the Komen Foundation is one of the most effective PR organs in the country. But they’re starting to over saturate, people are getting tired of pink month. That’s how these things go. Once upon a time the Jerry Lewis Telethon was inseparable from Labor Day, not to mention all the companies that had the “Jerry’s Kids” change buckets; now I can’t remember the last time I saw one of those change buckets and most folks couldn’t even tell you if there was a telethon last month. Before Jerry was transcendent there was the March of Dimes, don’t even know if they still exist.

And as for the pink, it was feminine before it was gay. Which is kind of how it wound up “assigned” to both gay and breast cancer. Blue and red didn’t used to be tied directly to the party, used to be blue was incumbent and red was challenger which made blue GOP a lot because we won the White House 5 out of 6 elections, then the 2000 election turned “red state” in a meme.

One can ‘only imagine’ what the fate of the Komen Foundation would be/have been, had they been funneling money to, say, a ‘pro life’ or ‘gasp’ the TEA Party rather than Planned Parenthood etc...
