Last week I heard a caller to a national radio show state we now have “Representation without Taxation”. A complete flip from what was the underlying sentiment over the Revolutionary War.

I am for going back to the landowner prevision or the federal tax prevision. Before we had an income tax, the bulk of taxes collected came from property tax. No property, no tax, no vote. Now that people with no skin the game can vote they have no issue with voting themselves greater and more costly benefits. The “Representation without taxation” is eating us alive.

Maybe show proof of local taxes to vote locally, state tax for statewide election and Federal tax to vote in National elections or those with National implications like Representative or Senator.

“Representation without Taxation” IS
“Taxation without Representation”,

because those untaxed voters cancel out the votes of the taxed voters.
