Obama up 4 in Ohio (in liberal poll)
Public Policy Polling ^ | September 30, 2012

PPP's newest poll of the Presidential race in Ohio finds Barack Obama leading Mitt Romney 49-45, down just slightly from a 50-45 advantage on our last independent poll there three weeks ago.

It's a mistake to think based on recent polling in Ohio that the race there is over. Obama is not popular in the state, with 48% of voters approving of him to 49% who disapprove. Among voters who remain undecided there just 13% think he's doing a good job to 65% who give him poor marks. That doesn't mean those folks will move to Romney en masse because they don't particularly like him either (a 26/37 favorability rating) but it does mean there's potential for the race there to get within tossup range over the final five weeks.

Other polls of Ohio showed unrealistic results, notably the Marist poll. The state usually votes about 2% more Republican than the nation as a whole.

The same poll shows liberal Senator Sherrod Brown leading by 49% to 41%.

Clicking on the link to the poll internals:
Question 16
Party Identification
Dim 41% Rep 36% Ind 23%

These percentages do not reflect current registration levels for Ohio.

Zero is not up by 4 in reality. Election Day will be about reality. Get ready for the 2012 tidal wave. More so than 2010 was!

Ah yes, PPP, the poll that had Todd Akin up by 10 over his opponent in Missouri after the slip of Todds tongue. After that poll this outfit is not to be trusted if it ever was.

41D/36R/23I
54 Women/46 Men
84 White/11 Black

Interesting that they asked whether they thought polls were being deliberately skewed to help Obama:

41 Yes/43 No

It turned out PPP cooked the Akin poll with a never seen before +8 Repub sample !!.
I had never before had a + GOP voter sample in my life time.

PPP showed what a complete SCAM DNC front group it was and alway as been with that pathetic push poll.

PPP also had a poll that had Akin up by one (1-2 months ago) that was skewed R+9. It was “bait” to keep in the race.

Akin bit and cited it to Hannity. When told of the R+9 skew, he didn’t bat an eye.

Just got back from Dallas doing a Glenn Beck show with pollster Kellyanne Conway, who exposed the malpractice of the big firms. Many, she said, are plain lazy: they are supposed to have certain regional, ethnic, and other categories that they get in the "right" percentages, but often if they don't get the right person on the phone, they just assign him to the group they need.

She also said that ALLthe pollsters tend to OVERSAMPLE cities because they are mor convenient and easier. Well, to me that automatically slants the survey to the left.
