In the most recent attack in the name of Islam, Muslim protesters attacked Buddhist villages in Bangladesh, after an image portraying a burnt Koran was posted on Facebook.
Witnesses said angry crowds set fire to homes and temples in the Cox's Bazar district, forcing families to flee the area, BBC news reported.
Hundreds of protesters reportedly rampaged Buddhist neighborhoods on Saturday and into the early hours of Sunday morning, smashing statues, burning down monasteries and attacking houses.
The man accused of posting the image is in protective custody. Police say he was tagged in the photo but did not post it himself, according to the BBC.
"Before they set fire to my home, they looted everything," resident Sumoto Barua said, according to the news agency. "They took our possessions, money, gold and even computers. Then they torched the house. I am now living under open sky."
Bangladeshi Home Minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir described the violence as "premeditated and deliberate acts of communal violence against a minority".
A curfew has been imposed and security forces are patrolling the streets.

Liberals love Buddhists because they like the meditative music, exotic chanting, and being able to claim to be religious without the rules and standards of a church.

Both religions believe in fatalism. Muslims believe in a highly physical afterlife, for which you gain admittance by killing lots of infidels. Buddhists believe in a reality grounded in the Great Wheel, with many return trips to this earthly plane, all reflective of the karma expended in how you’ve lived your last life. So that means you are trapped by the consequences of your actions. They’ll go with the Muslims. I bet one New Israeli Shekel. Any takers?
Most might not attack you themselves, but they will stand silently by while others do. We had Muslims standing out by a busy street last weekend proclaiming that they love peace. When you read between the lines of the article, though, you discovered that they don’t condone violence, they want people to understand that there are “responsible” for what they say and do that insults religion. Sounds like a threat to me.

All this makes Arabs very volatile when they grow up. But are these practices common in other Muslim societies as well? Do Bangadeshis and Pakistani male children also suffer this constant messing with their masculine identity?
