Wow...
I don't expect Romney to win Illinois. Then again... ya never know.
Unemployment is higher by 1 pt in Illinois than the national average. It is higher in Chicago by 2 pts.
Now there is no doubt that this state has a severe case of the Stupids but surely it has an end?
“I don’t expect Romney to win Illinois.”
Zero up by 13 to 17 percent: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/il/illinois_romney_vs_obama-2955.html
The 10th Congressional District contains a significant number of affluent Jewish voters, including some who are willing to split their tickets and vote for occasional Republican candidates. This district has elected several GOP moderate/liberal representatives to the US Congress from John Porter, Mark Kirk (now in the US Senate) to the current incumbent Bob Dold.
Many of these voters will break with Democrats who embrace Arabic rhetoric who appear to be hostile to Israel.
I asked a couple of weeks ago why Obama’s bus tour had stops planned in Illinois; I was told at the time it was for fundraising, but my understanding was that he’d use AF1 for that.
I’m seriously hoping (and hopefully not deluding myself) that at this point he is just trying to save face by not losing his home state.
