Good luck! It is one of the most politically connected Democratic Party machines in the USA. It has stayed “under-the-radar” compared to places such as Chicago or Baltimore because its a more recent phenomenon. Sometime during the 1960’s - 1970’s transition, Oakland went “all-in” with crime, corruption, and the Democratic Party.
