People who love dictators, and they are legion, always assume they would be part of the elite. They see themselves seated at the Round Table, or in a high tower looking out over the bucolic meadows. They don’t see themselves as being the poor sap standing in the soup line or on the wrong end of the trunchion.
A lot of these Hollywood idiots went to Cuba. While in Cuba they woke up next to dead hookers, male or female adult or child. All caught on camera.
They then come back from Cuba and tell all their friends what a great place Cuba is how they should all go to Cuba. The cycle continues. Once the Communists have them, they then go and do whatever they are told.
