When my kids were growing up, they liked green vegetables, salad and fruit. They also liked junk food, but we made them eat the healthy stuff first before they could have the junk.
A lot of this goes back to what’s been offered at home throughout their lives.
There are a LOT of adults who will not touch healthy food even though they know they should. That’s the example set for a lot of kids.
If kids have not been served healthy food at home as the primary part of their diet, they are certainly not going to eat it at school.
Next step - government monitors coming into your homes to control what you feed your family. First victims - the families of the school kids who are throwing the peaches into the garbage at school. At least one school has mounted cameras near the garbage cans ostensibly to see what and how much food is being discarded. But it wouldn’t be a stretch to think that the families of the kids who are throwing the stuff away will be called into the principal’s office for a scolding.
If all else fails, just strap a straight jacket on the kids and force feed them. “You will obey.”
