Mitt Romney's strong debate performance Wednesday night has generated $12 million in online contributions, his campaign said, as well as a surge in volunteers and bigger crowds at his events.
The $12 million the campaign reports raising in less than 48 hours after the debate tops the amount Mr. Romney raised in the days after announcing Rep. Paul Ryan, R.-Wis., as his running mate and the Supreme Court's decision to uphold a major plank of the president's health-care law. Sixty percent of the money came from first-time donors, the campaign said, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Mr. Romney's debate performance triggered additional volunteers for the GOP's next national turnout drive on Saturday. The number of people who signed up to volunteer to make calls, knock on doors and sign up supporters for Mr. Romney has shot up by nearly 63% since Wednesday night, campaign officials said. The Republican National Committee, working in conjunction with the Romney campaign and its various state parties, expects to contact nearly two million voters on Saturday and roughly five million for the week.
It is too early to tell how much Mr. Romney moved the needle Wednesday night, and the early evidence is more anecdotal than empirical: Volunteers in Nevada lined up before campaign staff could open the doors on Thursday morning, the campaign said, and larger-than-usual groups showed up to work at field offices across the country. The campaign said it added more than 300,000 new Facebook friends.

How many of those contributions were anonymous small-donor untraceable donations from overseas? Hmmmm?
When are we going to get rid of corporate personhood and reverse Baldwin vs. Citizens?
/S
Soetoro’s “donations” depend upon which celebrities he can line up for his fundraisers.
Re my post 2: I meant Citizens United, sorry for the wrong reference.
I’m contributing online to Romney
Id like to know how many of Obama’s contributions come from Hamas, heard rumors in 2008 that he received many contributions from the Gaza strip
I gave, out of pure shock that someone running for Federal office mentioned the 10th Amendment.
We need to contact Mark Levin and have him post/read a list of those candidates running for the Senate and the House who are behind in support and need OUR financial support. Does anyone else know if there is a list out there of these names? Will go to Mark's Facebook page and put this up and also try to send him a email.
How terrible.../s
That’s monumentally disappointing. I actually donated $100 after the debate and I was hoping to see a $50 mil to $75 mil ....$12 million will last all of 5 minutes.
Seventy-million viewers watched Wednesday’s debate, compared to only 38 million who tuned in to watch Obama’s most recent State-of-the-Union address.
So, the huge debate audience must have been primarily interested in seeing how the relatively unknown Romney performed against the all-too-well-known and over-rated Obama.
According to all measures and standards, never has a presidential candidate so outperformed his opponent in a debate as Romney did Obama. And the debate will not soon be forgotten.
It’s been 50 years since John Kennedy famously beat the dour Richard Nixon and his five o’clock shadow in America’s first nationally televised presidential debate, yet Kennedy’s victory was so narrow he would not have been elected without Chicago’s Mayor Daley stuffing the ballot boxes for him, as has been well documented.
Mitt Romney’s performance was good enough and Obama’s poor enough to be remembered fifty years from now. Not to mention four weeks from now on Election Day. And the Daley family is no longer in power in Chicago; they’ve been replaced by the very political hacks like David Axelrod who are responsible for advising Obama on his debate performance, which was such an historically memorable disaster.
Yup....this debate was a game-changer. It exposed Obama in a way that’s not been done before. He’s an Afirmative Action product, and for many Americans, I think that fact hit them right in the face for the first time. Obama will never be looked at in the same way again by the public.....he was disgraced.
I agree - If he raised that amount every day this month, he’d only have match Hussein’s haul in September.
Me too. He just got my third 100.00. He’ll get more everytime he does good.
0 is the on getting overseas donations.
0 is the on getting overseas donations
Yes, Marxist obama is getting donations from foreign Marxists and Muslims who are enemies of America.
I’m going to volunteer for phoning people in swing states too.
You are correct, but this is online only. They get more via mail, fundraisers and other means.
Thanks for posting this...it's SO important.
If you do come across the (Levin) list, please ping me. Thanks!!
I was hoping that Romney would raise $50m to $75m following his debate performance as well. He nailed most of the critical points for me and did so in an impressive manner. I immediately jumped over and donated $500. I will match that again in a couple of weeks. This election is far too important to sit on the sidelines - it’s an investment on all of our futures.
More anecdotal evidence:
On the Thursday morning after the big debate, Romney signs sprouted like mushrooms that had sprung up overnight in my neighborhood. Prior to that, there was just one house that I knew of with a yard sign.
