David Cameron has been given a clear demand from the Conservative Party’s grass roots to drop his controversial plans to legalize same-sex marriage in an eve-of-conference poll.

The survey of Tory constituency chairmen, seen by The Sunday Telegraph, finds that 71 percent think the proposal—which the Prime Minister has pledged will be law by 2015—should be abandoned.

They could run a poll asking, “Should we nuke ourselves” and about the same number of people would be for that as are for gay marriage.

It’s a utter and total loser political issue and only losers use it in a campaign.

That “conservative” over there would make some of our Democrats look downright victorian.

(Can we get an international trademark on “Conservative” so that other people - like this guy - can’t use it?)

Is there any way for the constituency chairs to bring Cameron to task or can he do whatever he wants until the next general election?
