Wear radio chip or leave, school tells students Superintendent issues warning: 'There will
WND ^ | 10/6/12 | Jack Minor

Brushing aside privacy concerns by parents and civil rights activists, a Texas school district has gone live with a controversial program requiring all students to wear a locator radio chip that will enable officials to track their every move – or face expulsion.

At the beginning of the school year students at John Jay High School and Anson Jones Middle School within the Northside Independent School District were told their old student ID badges were no longer valid. During registration they were required to obtain new badges containing a radio frequency identification tracker chip.

No kidding.

In the “old days” a few hundred parents would just show up at the school board meeting and tell the Superintendent that they are going to beat the living crap out of him on the spot if he doesn't drop his asinine plan.

100 students go to local animal shelter, place ID cards on pets' collars and then let them all out of their cages.

100 go to the mall and hook them to the under-frame of 100 vehicles.

50 go to citys' truck stop to hide them under interstate and intrastate trucks.

100 spread out to city buses, police cars, and other city service (Water Dept, Parks Dept, Sanitation Dept) vehicles.

Then, go to the park and shoot hoops or crash under a tree with their girl or boy friends.

sounds like the kind of badge I have at work. I wear it and use it to access secured areas. The badge needs to be within inches of a card reader for the chip to register.

These chips are not strong enough be read from a distance.

There is no big deal. The ID cards are ubiquitous and a good thing. The cards tell who entered what entry at what time and when they left.

Most important, a person without the card is denied entry.

I fail to see a problem other than Luddite disgust for change.

Test programs? Maybe.

My thought is that schools are indoctrinating kids to accept a tightly controlled society - fascism. No privacy, no free speech, & the right of gov’t to challenge you on ANY behavior - even where you go.

In past times, only a parent had this level of control. Now, gov’t has taken it away as a new gov’t function.

At this rate, 100 years from now, gov’t will dictate when, where, & under what circumstances you may defecate.

-——“..so leave it in your locker at night..”-——

That is one of the card’s uses. The computer knows the person did not check out. If at say 6:00 or so when all are supposed to be gone, the computer would know the child was still present. An alarm could be raised.

I’m amazed at the negative thoughts here on this subject.

Also, It is difficult to leave without swiping the card. Swiping is necessary to assure you left.

Unfortunately, you will have a lot of two-digit IQers (and a lot who vote GOP) support such nonsense as this. Too many these days have no problem with being monitored, video-taped, taking forced vaccines, GMO food, and the like.

This stuff is total Big Brother, and reasonable citizens need to vote out this school board in the next election

How in gods name is this happening in TEXAS?

I mean some NE state sure..

It’s TEXAS for Pete’s sake!

Where is the pitch forks?

Where is the torches?

It’s the same state where the Governor, Rick Perry, tried to force little girls to take an STD vaccine (that had a fail rate of about 30%)...and the same Rick Perry that pushed property seizures to build toll roads for Mexican trucks to haul Communist Chinese goods thru Texas

And people posting on here still think Rick Perry is a CONSERVATIVE

Fortunately, many Texans rose up against Perry’s Big Government Liberal nonsense. But this stuff happens (in all states) because people do not know the difference between a Republican and a Conservative. My tagline says it all

Fire the superintendent. That dad needs to run for school board. Parents have forgotten that they run the school. Have a few dozen parents show up at the admin office and watch those chips go bye-bye.

Every year my kids were in school, there were one or two new rules that I got stopped in their tracks with merely a few phone calls and usually without them knowing who did it.

Look who the mayor is in San Antonio. That could be a big part of this. Mayor Castro is uber lib and his mama is a La Raza member. http://rockwallconservative.me/2012/09/06/san-antonio-do-you-know-the-mother-of-your-mayor/

What is with hippies growing up to be fascists, who’d of “thunk” the generation of “free love” would want to videotape and track one’s every move

That has nothing rational to do with passes and restricted entry

Let’s be clear on this, bert. This process doesn’t tell anything other than where the CARD is located, or what doors/locks it has activated at what time, etc. Unless it’s surgically attached to the person, it’s not assured that little Johnny used his card to get anywhere...
