Darned betcha the use of a person of possibly mixed race was intentional. Paul Ryan’s appeal is NOT nerely to those of exclusively white, northern European ancestry.
Look back into the past to learn of Ryan’s personal openness concerning racial matters. He has a black sister-in-law, and in his bachelor past, he had a black girlfriend. So race has to be a matter of total, truly colorblind irrelevance to him.

I never really thought about Paul Ryan’s body fat percentages, but I definitely agree his political and economic stances are major “hotness” :-)
