Hi, I'm Thomas Whitaker, the field organizer for President Obama's grassroots organization in the area.
I wanted to thank you personally for taking the time to talk recently with one of our organizers about the issues that matter to you and your friends and family. I also wanted to give you some more information on what the President and other Democrats have done to help create jobs.

Here are some of the highlights for our state and the nation, too:
When the President took office, the economy was losing more than 750,000 jobs each month. The President acted quickly to pass the Recovery Act--and since the recovery took hold, the U.S. economy has added 4.5 million private sector jobs over 29 consecutive months of job growth. That includes 159,800 jobs right here in Pennsylvania. [Bureau of Labor Statistics, 7/12]
President Obama's decision to rescue the American auto industry helped save over 1 million jobs up and down the supply chain. Here in Pennsylvania, 250,000 jobs are supported by the auto industry. [Center for Automotive Research, 11/7/10]; 4/21/10]
As governor of Massachusetts, Romney's jobs record was one of the worst in the country--the state ranked 47th in job creation--and as a presidential candidate, he supports tax cuts for corporations that ship jobs overseas. Plus, his tax plan would raise taxes on working families by $2,000, while giving multi-millionaires a $250,000 tax cut. We, the American people, are the ones who have kept the economy from total collapse. We worked, invested, invented, produced, created, saved, lent, borrowed. Anything and everything Obama did just got in the way and has been a drag on the economy.
We can’t let O take credit that we haven’t totally collapsed. Romney needs to give us the American people credit. It is true and it will show whose side he is on.
