the company from which I retired began offering 401ks around 1980. I went into it and had everything they offered deducted. My account grew like topsy until Billy Clintons last year - 2000.That's when the downward slope began. In the next few years I lost almost 40%. Today I'm still down around 30% from where it was before the downturn.It was a great program for me. I was always disappointed that Congress always seemed able to fix things and help companies, banks and other types of victims of the downturn, but the seniors who lost so much - too bad, so sad!!! - just saying!

My Dad, President of a union, was a union man all his life,use to tell me people we're to stupid to take care of themselves.

I've never been a member of a union,never will be.
