Would be nice to see our state come to its senses, wouldn’t it? All them old-time Dem deer hunters and coal miners upstate maybe realizing who they’re voting for when they pull the “D” lever for the first time in their lives...
I have no hope for Philly or Pittsburgh, but they are not the entire state.
To me, it’s actually baffeling why we haven’t voted for an R for President in such a long time. People have this perception now that Pa is some liberal state, but it’s not. Look at all the other elected officials. We have a Republican governor and Lt. governor. We have a Republican dominated state Senate and House. The majority of our Federal reps are Republicans and it’s split for the Senate. One Dem and one strong tea party Republican. I remember Mark Critz’s adds (a democratic representative for Murtha’s old district) from 2010. If you saw the add, you would think he was a Reagan republican. The yahoos here in Southwest Pa got snookered on that one.
It comes down the the union mentality that still exists in our state IMO. However, that influence doesn’t seem to affect any other of the races except for President.
