I thought it sounded kinda ominous, but it really isn't. It's just pointing out that while we have a decent idea of what to do with the survivors of a man-made mass casualty event, we're not equipped to deal with the dead, not that it really does much toward helping with that.

• • •

A BILL

To amend the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to require the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency to provide guidance and coordination for mass fatality planning, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ‘Mass Fatality Planning and Religious Considerations Act’

SEC. 2. FINDINGS.
Congress finds the following:

(1) Emergency preparedness often plans for how to prepare and provide for survivors of a natural disaster, act of terrorism, or other man-made disaster, but fails to plan for how to prepare for and respond to mass fatalities that result from such an incident.

(2) Funeral homes, cemeteries, and mortuaries could be overwhelmed should mass fatalities arise from a natural disaster, act of terrorism, or other man-made disaster.

(3) Different religions have different customs surrounding death; for example, the Jewish and Muslim religions call for burial of the deceased not later than 48 hours after death.

SEC. 3. PREPAREDNESS FOR MASS FATALITIES RESULTING FROM A NATURAL DISASTER, ACT OF TERRORISM, OR OTHER MAN-MADE DISASTER.

Section 504 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C. 314) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection:

‘(c) Preparedness for Mass Fatalities- In carrying out this section, the Administrator shall provide guidance to and coordinate with appropriate individuals, including representatives from different communities, private sector businesses, non-profit organizations, and religious organizations, to prepare for and respond to a natural disaster, act of terrorism, or other man-made disaster that results in mass fatalities.’.

I didn’t read the whole thing. Does it say, “Build big ovens near FEMA camps” at the bottom? That sounds like something Obama would do.

Laura Richardson, reprimanded on ethics charges. On a watchdog list for most corrupt. Why is she there, let alone sponsoring a program over my dead body?

I don't understand this sudden concern and planning for “mass fatalities.”

Why now? We've always known we could have wars, epidemics, and natural disasters. What's about to happen that we can't manage as we have done in the past?

Will Barack and Hillary send Susan Rice to lie to the peasants...again?

It’s a little creepy to me because I’m remembering that FBI agent that was on 60 minutes or 20/20 back, God I don’t know, in the 80’S who had set in on one of those hate groups maybe Bill Ayers group or another one. But the FBI agent said the group had been talking about the logistics of murdering about 25 million of us. Their plan if they could not convert us to their way was to exterminate us.

That’s why I said creepy. Obama just bought a jail, HLS bought bullets and now this. LOL Add them all up and one could start looking for the tin foil. LOL If not a shovel to did a hole to crawl into to hide.

Expanding the Soviet-style "Homeland Security Act", I see. But why now? Why is this amendment being considered now? Why not 3 years ago, or 6 years ago...?

Read the book, “One Second After”, for a chilling look at the breakdown after an EMP attack ends government, and society in the US. Dealing with the large numbers of dead is only one part of the equation when people who have gotten used to having things delivered to them are suddenly left without.

People managed to deal with it in 1918, I don’t see how government getting involved will make it any more efficient or less tragic...

What if we are EMP attacked by OUR OWN GOVERNMENT? Would that not achieve what Obama is striving for? Wouldn’t it kill our jobs, communications, food supply, transportation, all our freedoms. I think we should be very afraid of one day soon, suddenly having no power, water, food, or ability to travel. In that light, the 3 billion rounds of hollow point ammo could find a usage quicker than we might think.

Oh yeah, I see where this is the responsibility of the Feral Government....it’s in that fine print in Article I that says abortion is a civil right. Funny how I missed it all those other times I read the Constitution.
