Mitt Romney does not intend to pursue legislation to restrict abortion if elected president, the Republican nominee told the Des Moines Register’s editorial board on Tuesday, setting off a late-night skirmish over the controversial social issue.

“There’s no legislation with regards to abortion that I’m familiar with that would become part of my agenda,” Romney said, according to the Iowa newspaper's website.

Romney did say he would reinstate through executive order a ban on American dollars being used to pay for abortions overseas. President Obama rescinded that ban. …

It depends on the judges he puts on the bench.

If they're anything like the flaming liberal judges he appointed as governor then pro-lifers have a right to be terrified.

Yeah, Santorum was only 100 percent prolife. Thanks Romney for the stab in the back right before the election. Gosh, who could have predicted that?

I am sure Mitt will “do the right thing” when it comes to abortion. He’s go my vote. The guy will launch an economic expansion not seen since Reagan.

Well, he just said this; now it’s up to the electorate to hold him to it if he gets in.

As for economic expansion, we were never as dependent on foreign countries during Reagan’s administrations, so it is hard to compare.

Wrong. Romney just got done taking about Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness in the first debate. He damn well better understand that life is a prerequisite for exercising liberty and pursuing happiness.

This from the LA Times, we know that we can believe everything they say. They too are on obama’s payroll.

Blacks are so obviously the target of legalized abortion; even Jesse Jackson called it genocide before he made his “deal with the Devil”.

It is a national disgrace, rightfully called the American Holocaust.

Don’t get me wrong, I ADMIRE you guys. I’m with you, but not quite as passionate. You are what separates us from Europe. You are what will hopefully drive Obama out of office in a month. In Europe, a person like him would be a moderate, assured of many, many, years in power. You are the difference. There is no Religious Right in Europe, and they are sinking by the day due to that.

I’m sorry that the best that the party could give us was Romney...but that still beats Obama. As we learned with Bush-43, the base still has power - or Harriett Miers would be on the Supreme Court. We stopped that stupid idea, and we will have some say over Romney. He may not be Rick, but he’s also not Obama, or any other Dem.

At Barack Obama's direction, for the 1st time in history, a pro taxpayer funded abortion on demand up to birth plank was added to the 2012 Democrat party platform Any true pro life voter would be more worried about Obama life long record of radical pro abortion legislating then Romney's neutral position on Abortion. Romney or Obama will be the next President. At worse Romney will maintain the current status quo while Obama will be actively pushing the pro Death agenda. All real pro Life voters understand this.

No the only person LYING here are the pro Obama bots who want to lie about their real agenda in order to keep pimping Obama around here.

For the 1st time in Democrat Party History, Obama had a pro taxpayer funded Abortion on demand up to birth and pro Gay Marriage planks added to the Democrat Party Platform

So go right ahead and pimp for Obama all you want but drop the fraudulent claims you are doing it on moral grounds.

The 9th Commandment is not a suggestion. Bearing false witness is still a sin.

Would help if the knee jerk ABR crowd bother ONE time to try actually reading the story rather then just mindlessly regurgitating their usual "hate Romney always" sour grapes.

Didn’t they try that same story with McCain? Didn’t work then, won’t work now. I voted for McCain - but I’m not voting for Romney.

So when are we going to see a law banning abortion in America?
