The complaint filed by two state senators against Secretary of State Mark Ritchie over his conduct related to the state's proposed voter ID amendment is scheduled for a hearing Friday morning.
Administrative law judge Bruce Johnson issued an order Tuesday, Oct. 9, concluding that the allegations, if true, would constitute a violation and thus a probable cause hearing was merited.
Republican Sens. Mike Parry of Waseca and Scott Newman of Hutchinson filed the complaint Thursday with the Office of Administrative Hearings. It alleged that Ritchie, a Democrat and opponent of the proposed amendment -- which would require all voters to present a photo ID at the polls -- had made false statements and improperly used his office to work against the amendment's passage.

There is no factual basis for the imaginary financial impacts some local governments are concocting and it’s impossible for the Voter ID amendment to end Election Day registration.
