Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant wants a judge to halt President Obamas new nondeportation policy, arguing that failing to send illegal immigrants back home is costing his state tens of millions of dollars a year.
Mr. Bryant, a Republican, on Wednesday joined a lawsuit filed over the summer by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents who said they are being forced to violate federal law by releasing illegal immigrants they know are eligible to be deported.
I believe this action by the Obama administration is unconstitutional and circumvents Congresss authority, said Mr. Bryant, adding that illegal immigration hurts his state. As governor, I cannot turn a blind eye to the problem of illegal immigration and its costs to Mississippi.
Mr. Obamas nondeportation policy, announced in June and implemented Aug. 15, applies to illegal immigrants 30 years old and younger who have avoided major criminal records.
Under the new policy, those illegal immigrants will be given papers saying they have been cleared from the threat of deportation known as deferred action and they will be given work permits. But the administration says they are still considered to be illegal aliens.

He’s not even trying to conceal it anymore. Finally a governor who admits that the illegal aliens are having a huge impact on our financial stability. I’ve been saying this all along; that they were a very significant factor in creating the current economic meltdown that we are now experiencing by bringing a giant influx of population that increases at a significantly faster rate than the other population demographic and that is draining entitlement programs and NOT paying back into the pot in the form of taxes. Add to that a large percentage acquired loans under Freddie and Fannie Mac that were not repaid as well as auto loans that they defaulted on and then drove the collateral across the border where they know it will increase the costs significantly or make it impossible to repossess. I’m not so sure that CHEAP labor was as cheap as we thought it was...: )

I appreciate the stand Governor Bryant has taken. I am still very disturbed by the actions of our Lt. Governor Tate Reeves I supported him and he betrayed all those who oppose illegal immigration, I will support whoever runs against him in the future.
