President Barack Obama said in an interview broadcast on Wednesday that he was "just too polite" in his first debate with Mitt Romney—a new explanation for the incumbent's widely panned performance in that prime-time political bout.

"What happened in the debate? Everybody wants to know," radio host Tom Joyner asked Obama. "Was that some kind of genius strategy to rope-a-dope him in?"

All the hand-wringing the Democrats have been going through trying to come up with some viable explanation to reconcile Obama's bungee jump off the political precipice without as much as a rubber band to ameliorate his Humpty-Dumpty maneuver off the debate wall have had scant insight in what might be some hoped for clever machination of the president that would explain his humongous fall from grace, having sent him reeling off his golden pedestal high atop Mt. Obamalympus being revealed as less than even a mere mortal.

Rope-a-Dope? Civility and politeness? The dog ate my debate notes?

Obama without a teleprompter has a range from flailing and incompetent to angry and incompetent.

Either choice will turn off the voters. The only hope Mr. Hopeychangey has is to sneak a teleprompter onto the premises.

That’s right, Barry, you were far too polite.

Next time, show him who’s boss. If he even dares open his mouth, slit his throat. Flail on him, rip him a new a-hole, rend him limb from limb.

No more Mr. Nice Guy.

Initially he thought he won the debate. Now he thinks he was "too nice." And he thinks his "Save Big Bird" campaign is a stroke of genius.

I hope he keeps thinking this way.

So President Barack Obama is ready to play the victim card? I thought that it was reported that he talked for four minutes longer than Romney. But Democrats are all about blame and victims.

Who knew that coming across as bored and clueless is defined as “polite?”

He really can't help it; he has no choice. It's impossible for a narcissist to sincerely believe that what went wrong really was his fault.

The closest he can come to blaming himself is to think he was too good!

Rush’s take and I believe it: O is making it all about him so they do not have to give Romney any credit for winning. i.e. O lost; Mitt did not win.

I know what to do Barry.

why don’t you go out there and smack-talk Romney to his face and in front of the whole world like you do when he isn’t around and in front of only your supporters?

Isn’t it funny how the little Kenyan thug wanna-be isn’t so brave when its face to face?

Usually, debate losers try to change the discussion to a new topic. This crew is so self absorbed and delusional, they can’t stop talking about it. Not only is Obama a malignant narcissist, hee is surrounded by others that are equally devoid of rational thinking and reality. Lots of hero worship.

He lost because he was rude, not polite. He overtly disrespected Romney with his posture, not making eye contect and disinterested doodling. The audience rightly concluded Obama’s too immature to suppress his (undeserved) feelings of superiority and behave properly.
