Well, I'd think they'd be giddy about the excuse for needing more ships BUT ...

Humanitarian crisis? Will the waters rise in Noah-like proportions over 40 days or will the sea rise be gradual, allowing folks to simply move inland?

About 1.1 millimeter per year. That's what ALL the hype is about. (Some studies claim 2 mm per year, but the valid ones have either 0.0 increase or 1.1 mm increase.) Per year.

So 100 years = 100 miliimeters. (Maybe - or maybe not.)

A little less than 4 inches. Or about the height of good size “wave” at a 2-4 mph wind.

1. The Military routinely develops plans of all manner of contingencies. There probably is a plan somewhere for the Ethiopian invasion of Iceland.

The METOC flag officer got bit by the AGW bug and has made many speeches, policies based on sea level rise due to AGW. Path of least resistance, I guess.
