My formative years were filled with images from Vietnam on the news. Buggs bunny was dressing up like a girl and trying to seduce Elmer Fudd or trying to convince Fudd to shoot the duck instead.

Me too. I can recall the first time I contemplated what death meant when night after night Walter Cronkite would start off his broadcasts with “Today in the war in Vietnam 32 US servicemen were killed.” And each night the number was different, 15, 41, 32,etc.
