Did Stephanie Cutter Just Win The Foreign Policy Debate For Romney?
Mediaite ^ | October 11, 2012 | Noah Rothman

In case you haven’t seen the video, watch it. Drink it in. Obama campaign Deputy Communications Director Stephanie Cutter, in a craven and flailing attempt to salvage the White House’s ebbing credibility surrounding their response to the 9/11/12 attacks in Libya, said that it was her estimation that the attacks were only an issue because Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan made it one.

In effect, Cutter said that this attack, one of the most comprehensive and successful Al Qaeda attacks on American assets since September 11, 20001 in which an American ambassador overseas was killed for the first time since the Carter administration, was only on the media’s radar because it is an election year. Stephanie Cutter has just provided Mitt Romney a stronger argument against President Barack Obama’s handling of foreign affairs he could have hoped for. In a single bound, Cutter revealed the administration’s thinking about how to respond to this deadly attack – it is not about American security, it is about politics. Fair or not, that is how Romney will frame Cutter’s glib remark.

“How, after saying something so callous and odious as this?”

Her mistake is not in saying it. It is saying it in public.

At the next R-O debate:

Romney turns to the moderator and says, “Before we go any further I think there is a subject that needs clarification on the part of the President. That would be the murder of our ambassador in Libya and the events leading up to it. Until now the American people have not heard a complete and honest account of what transpired. I am granting as much of my time to President Obama as he might require to address the American people on this subject. All I ask is 10 minutes for rebuttal”

Now THAT would be fun to watch.

Mitt Romney’s initial comments were accurate and spot on with regard to this that he was raked over the coals for saying by Obama and his campaign and the media - a massive firestorm of saying Romney spoke before the “facts” were known, etc. Well the “facts” being put out were completely false by the administration which the media gleefully reported as accurate without any skepticism. Everyone of us supposed little peons sitting here knew it did not make sense to have what was an obviously coordinated terrorist attack just randomly took place as a riot on the date of September 11 in response to a movie that had been out there for months.

Even better win for the debate would be to repeat the talking points of Ed Brayton, who blamed Romney for Iraq, when it’s not practically possible for him to have commanded Iraq, since he was in MA as governor at the time. That and repeating the all Republicans want to do is bomb foreigners. If that’s all they want to say, then alright, go ahead, make my day..

I don’t feel *that* old.

The good news is that the National Debt is being paid off by now. The bad news is it's from that overdue library book you borrowed back in the 21st century...

You got that right! Cutter is an evil ill tempered woman (bitch). You can look into her eyes and see vile hatred.

And contrast her attitude with our service men’s attitude:

I voluntarily live in a remote part of the world. If, for some reason, something happens here, I do NOT expect the US to come to my rescue. I am a civilian and on my own. But, a Green Beret told me last week not to worry. He is assigned to this area of the world and if something happens, he will be here for me. To that hero, it is a BIG DEAL.

If it didn’t hurt Obama personally, it’s no big deal to his administration.

Obama: Some of you may die, but that’s a risk I am willing to take.

I’d like to see how he would behave if his own life were in jeopardy, rather than the lives of others. My guess is that you would see a grown man beg and cry. Like Che, when the Bolivians caught him, “Don’t shoot! I’m worth more to you alive than dead.”

When I look into liberals eyes all I see is vile hatred so Cutter is NO different..this is how the Administration feels, it was NO gaffe..a gaffe is saying something you didnt mean to say, a mistake..this was NO mistake, this is how the Administration and the left feels about our military and those who work in our embassies overseas.

Agree with all you say.

Cutter was on with Bret Baier this evening; he gave her every opportunity to dig herself out of the hole she made for herself, but she just kept flinging dirt over her shoulder. She might reach China soon.

Soulless witch.

I'm sure Ryan will have no problem bringing this up, regardless of what questions are asked.

Agreed, but it will give Biden an out. He can sidestep it by saying he wants to stay on topic.
