So first time claims for Unemployment Insurance dropped by 30,000 last week, as reported yesterday???
Oh, the numbers for "one large State" were omitted???
Oh, the Wall Street Journal reported that State was Kalifornia???
Well if you go to the URL above, you will be taken to the California Employment Development Department "Quick Statistics" chart, scroll down to the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Statistics section. Then click on the "Initial Claims Filed" link. (Im sorry to say I've forgotten how to get the PDF into the body of this thread)
I went back 13 years (1999) and added the claims filed for each of the Octobers from 1999 to 2011 (October isn't there yet for 2012 - but then neither are September or August... who'd a thunk?)
Well that sum is 3,165,867. There are 403 days in 13 Octobers. There are 57.57 weeks in 403 days, let's round that up to 58, just to be generously fair. Therefore California has averaged 54,584 claims per week in October for 13 years!
So yesterday's report reading "First times claims dropped by 30,000..." Should have read "First time claims rose by 24,500 or thereabouts... Oh my!
I put all of the Math in here so that even a Klintonian might be able to follow it.
(Feel free to let me know if I made mistakes in the math.)
Fear not — the lying is just going to get worse. It is all these criminals can do.
Let's see how the updated data gets buried next week with the next release. At least Rick Santelli and Jack Welch will be giving it some media voice.
Don’t forget this week had a holiday
ANYBODY CONNECTED TO THE ROMNEY CAMPAIGN??
The Romney camp may well know about this. I have a co-worker whose husband works for CSX Railroad. She told me this morning that their union was sending out information that Romney would “do away” with their pension. More leftist union lies. Because their pension plans were so good, I know they were exempted from SS years ago. Romney may know about this, but it would be good for Romney to address it. To her credit, the wife said she did not believe it and would NEVER vote for Obama.
I hope someone can put this info into hands that can use it.
Good job!
