My recollection of that list is that New Orleans was the US city with the highest murder rate.

The bulk of the cities in the top 50 for murder rates were in Latin America (but concentrated in certain countries--some countries didn't have any cities on the list). Several cities in Mexico. Caracas was number 5 or number 6.

Yeah I believe Flint has the highest per capita murder rate.

FReepers have fallen into a bad habit of never questioning things that should be obvious because it goes against what the cool kids want them to say. FReepers should be smarter than this.

Detroit does have the highest number of justifiable homicides that are generally defensive killings. Unfortunately they’re counted as violent crimes for statistical purposes.

A few days ago, FReepers happily joined the Detroit policeman’s union in attempting to blackmail the city when the police were warning that the city was dangerous. FReepers happily went along.

Sure Detroit is dangerous, just like DC, Chicago, Philly, St Louis, NJ and any number of other cities. One think Detroit has going for it that most of those others don’t is armed citizens increasingly willing to defend themselves.
