Hawaii names on once-secret Boy Scouts sex abuse suspect list

A once-secret Boy Scout list of child sex abuse suspects includes several cases in Hawaii. The allegations are from decades ago, released under court order. The men are not still involved with scouting, and Boy Scout policies are now considered highly vigilant in abuse prevention.

A database being referred to as the Boy Scouts of America's internal "perversion files" lists four Hawaii names, two with troop-specific allegations of molestation but no apparent arrests or convictions in Hawaii.

A group that had formed to help Catholic clergy molestation victims says it hears from now-adult Boy Scout victims too and explains a pattern among list entries.

“They concealed child predators,” said Barbara Dorris of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests. “It's very similar to what's happened in the Catholic Church, that the institution, the reputation of the institution becomes far more important than the protection of the innocent children.”

Anyone want to cross check this with teachers at little Barry’s prep school?

Hey, that’s swell, but if this group would do this to the teachers unions, I’d pay more attention. Somehow, they get a pass on their rampant pedophilia that the Scouts and the Church don’t get.

I wonder why there are NEVER any debate questions about this subject. Maybe we should bring it up EVERY time some liberal moderator asks about abortion...

The reason why now no homosexuals are allowed in the Boy Scouts.

The funny thing is that these groups like “SNAP” seem only interested in helping victims of homosexual abuse who come from organizations that officially forbid homosexual behavior. Do they ever show up for the myriad cases of sex abuse that occur in every other type of organization? If so, I haven’t seen them.

SNAP was formed by lawyers to fund lawsuits.

They do the same BS with ADA cases.

Found SNAP’s web site: http://www.snapnetwork.org/

An excerpt: “If you’ve been victimized by clergy, please know that you are not alone. You can get better. You can reach out to others who’ve been hurt just like you have. Together, we can heal one another. We are SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests. We are the largest, oldest and most active support group for women and men wounded by religious authority figures (priests, ministers, bishops, deacons, nuns and others). We are an independent and confidential organization, with no connections with the church or church officials. We are also a non-profit, certified 501 (c) (3) organization and we are here to help.”

“Boy Scouts of America kept records dating back nearly 100 years, officially called the “Ineligible Volunteers Files.””

Good.

I just got a request in the mail today for support from the local council.

It’s going back in the mail, with a check, tomorrow.

Thank you BSA.
