(Reuters) - Joe Biden's spirited performance in the vice presidential debate had Republicans criticizing him for snide grins and a comment on Libya, but it set the stage for President Barack Obama to try to regain his footing during a rematch with challenger Mitt Romney next Tuesday.
Greg Valliere, who analyzes politics for investors at Potomac Research Group, said he thought Ryan "won on points," but that Biden energized the Democrats and stopped the slide.
"This entertaining debate was all about Biden, who easily cleared a low bar," Valliere said in a note to clients on Friday.

I think the Democrats have deluded themselves into believing that Biden's antics last night is a winning strategy. Obama will try to follow suit, and could very well try to out-Biden Biden in next week's debate. If he does, it will be an absolute disaster for the Obama campaign.
It’s good that he did it, agreed, but it bothers me that not only was it ignored by the other side (expected), Ryan’s own side didn’t seem to notice the remark, the gentle admonishment to Biden to stop doing what he was doing. Because some of them complained that he didn’t even try to admonish Biden, and I heard not a soul mention that he actually did it. Well, until a FReeper mentioned it...
I can’t imagine that acting like that in a town hall format would come across well.

Before the last debate, he spent his time with Beyonce and “the pimp with the limp (?).” I suspect he snorted cocaine off of a celebrity butt. Which one is anyone’s guess.

Yes he did. Biden literally laughed that off and kept interrupting him. I think he may even have tried to interrupt Ryan while Ryan was saying that.
