Floridians’ Property Rights May Get a Reprieve.

When it had a chance to uphold property rights, the Florida Supreme Court got it wrong. Will the U.S. Supreme Court now get it right? The question arose last Friday when the nation’s highest court – during the first week of its 2012-13 term — agreed to hear an appeal of the Florida court’s misguided decision.

The Koontz family merely wanted to exercise their rights as property owners, to develop the family’s land in legal and responsible ways. But regulators saw a chance to pounce and make all kinds of costly, unrelated, outrageous demands.

Without any justification, the government demanded money, labor, and resources as the price for allowing the Koontzes to use their own land. This was a flat-out shakedown, a form of extortion. And government shakedowns of property owners aren’t just wrong; they’re unconstitutional….

Well, SCOTUS screwed up Kelo.

With Traitor Roberts still searching for his "legacy", there is a questionable chance for the opinion to go the American way.

If ONLY a Court would address the shakedowns of Taxpayers to pay off Campaign Donors, who pocket millions, and produce NOTHING. Likewise, money-laundering of Union Dues straight to the DNC, in exchange for bailouts and forced-Unionization to expand the Dues and donations, should be addressed, too.

I have to laugh at anyone who expects justice from the USSC.

I still think Roberts was blackmailed. His behavior was not that of a man trying to establish a legacy; he very suddenly changed his mind on the subject with no good reason and tried to talk other justices out of a position he had advocated weeks earlier. Would you put it past this administration to threaten anyone? Especially a man with young children?

These three are also guilty of perpetrating the Bush/Gore election farce, and allowed Greer to order the execution via starvation and dehydration of Terri Schiavo.

Vote all of them out of power!
This is one time when it comes to “judging the judges” that Florida citizens can be entirely confident that a NO vote on retention is absolutely the correct choice.

For the other five judges on my sample ballot, I have no idea how to even begin to measure their judicial competancy.

But these three “Supremes” need to go elsewhere.

St Johns River Management District is one of Florida’s versions of the EPA.

Unbelievable they wanted this guy to spend his own funds restoring and developing SRMD land MILES away from his own property in exchange for a permit for him to develop his own property.

That’s called blackmail, is it not?

I anticipate being in a foul mood on Nov 6th.

There is no shortage of FL lawyers, the farm team for judges. I will vote to remove them all, district as well as the supremos, if for no other reason than my belief that rotation in office is good for our republic. No pol should be above responsibiliy to the people.

Blackmail. Exactly. Government not by our representatives, but by pure force.

Until a few years ago, I hadn’t met anyone who declared personal bankruptcy. Since then, several acquaintances and one dear friend has done so. I know of two families making plans to move to Ecuador regardless of who wins next month.

The USA, a republic founded to protect unalienable rights has evolved into an oppressive monster dedicated to deprive us of our rights.

This will not end well.

Well, SCOTUS screwed up Kelo.

No kidding.
Ironically it would be one of the easiest rulings to reverse if we [people] had coordination and will; all we would have to do is imagine some numbers showing that the Supreme Court Justices homes/lands/belongings would be provide more tax-bonuses in the hands of some particular [irrelevant who] person/company and seize them citing Kelo as the decision.

Another one to easily get thrown out is the NDAA, if we had an Executive that realized it as a piece of contra-constitutional garbage all he'd have to do is use the "indefinite detainment" on the Justices themselves (let them have access to pen and paper, maybe an aide to run and retrieve legal refs for them) bot keep them locked up in a cell and they'd soon find the NDAA a violation of the Constitution.
