This new video from the United Steelworkers (USW) exposes how Mitt Romney and Bain Capital are profiting by selling out America's workers and shipping U.S. jobs to China.
In 2010, the Bain Capital-controlled Sensata Technologies bought Honeywells automotive onboard sensor business, including a Freeport, Ill., plant, where 170 workers were making a middle-class living. Says Tom Gaulrapp:
They came in and introduced the transition team, and the next bullet in the meeting was, 'By the way, by the end of 2012 all the jobs in this plant will be moved to China.'
Those middle-class jobs were, according to the Institute for Global Labor and Human Rights, headed for Sensata facilities where mostly female workers earn 99 cents an hour for 12-hour days, seven days a week.
USW President Leo W. Gerard says, Mitt Romney likes to say that he knows nothing about tax breaks for offshoring American jobs, or that he shouldnt be held accountable for Bain Capitals actions since hes no longer CEO.
Our video shows the truth about the kind of economy Romney wants, and it exposes the fact that he continues to own shares in Bain-controlled companies like Sensata that profit from sending these good jobs to China.
The New York Times reported this summer:
[Mitt Romney] owns about $8 million worth of Bain funds that hold 51 percent of Sensatas shares. If Sensata saves money by closing the Freeport plant, that could add money to Mr. Romneys trust accounts, now or after the election.
Watch the video where workers talk about the impact of losing their jobs to China had on their families and their community. Then read this report from the institute on the Chinese factories Bain and Romney are profiting from.
Romney’s not with Bane and hasn’t been for a long time. - Hussein’s done ENOUGH to hurt this country; PEOPLE ARE HURTING!!!!!
I don’t have a problem with this.
This is ELEVEN YEARS AFTER Romney left Bain Capital.
AFL-CIO website?
Now everything is Romney’s fault, at least they stopped blaming Bush.
Before anyone jumps on this and starts screaming “propaganda”, I strongly suggest you go to
and read these two short essays:
1) Senator McCain, You Ignorant Slut;
2) This Is “Free Trade”;
Karl Deninger nails it.
These will start your mind working on who and how much ‘free trade’ and ‘Globalization’ has benefitted anyone except the average U.S. citizen.
As a supplier, you can choose compete or defeat.
Because no OEM is gonna buy your stuff at a higher price because you are providing “middle class jobs” to union employees in the US.
I have a friend who taught English in China for five years.......although the $0.99 per hour seemed harsh, we are judging based on what we pay verses our expenses.
She paid $29 US per month for a two bedroom apartment per month and about $10 US for utilities.
So if I made $0.99 per hour and worked 40 hours per week, I would be doing well.
I call BS on this, and what in the world are we doing tearing down our guy as the election draws near??
Jesus.
Put a cork in it.
Those are the jobs that Obama's buds at GE moved out of the country...
I’m surprised they didn’t accuse him of poisoning all those Chinese workers while they’re at it.
Like the commie ‘RAT politicians, the union knuckledraggers have figured out that their days are numbered too. Americans have had enough of these greedy, little piggies.
Where’s the barf alert?
Why is so much “Made in China” crap coming here?
Yeah! Let’s stick with Barack Hussein Obama! He “outsourced” my grandchildren’s future to the Red Chinese! ***holes.
So what? J. Imelt (Obama’s job Czar) has become the poster child for Outsourcer in chief. And what about banning the light bulb in favor of hazardess made in China CFL. Pot meet Kettle.
The real story is that the redistribution folks in this administration believe that Americans live too high on the hog, and that their wages need to be brought down to the same level as the third world countries.
If wages can’t be reduced, then they should be punished by a global tax to redistribute what they earn to the other countries by the UN.
The only decent jobs in the future are going to be those that can not be outsourced or automated. Plumber, Electricians etc.
Gotta be careful..FR is not very supportive of manufacturing workers...you will find few that will side with you...btw...i have always despised so called free trade....i’m right in the thick of it and know what it has done.
All those public employee pension plans that profit from Bain’s moves are not complaining.
