Wow! You gotta get out more. Female athletes (gymnasts, pole vaulters) do pull-ups all the time.
Pound for pound, female gymnasts are some of the strongest people on the planet.
What percentage of females at a gym are competitive gymnasts?
If you think female gymnasts are some of the strongest people on earth, for their weight, you need to do a little research.
I hate to crush all those girls ideas who think watching TV and movies is a good way to view the relative athletic abilities of men and women, but just compare World records for men and women in track and field.
Note you can’t compare them except in the same events where the distances and weights are the same. For example, men run the 110 meter high hurdles, while women run the 100 meter medium hurdles tho they still call them high.
Men throw a heavier shot and discus so those can’t be directly compared, but compare say the women’s world record in the 100 meters with the girls, then compare the typical state high school boys 100 meter times with women’s world record times.
You do realize that your response to the comment about pullups is irrelevant, don’t you? If you don’t, you might consider what a normal distribution is and how someone several standard deviations from the mean tells you nearly nothing that would allow you to compare the distributions o female and female upper body strength. And, in case you are wondering, male gymnasts are generally far stronger in the upper body than their female counterparts, even pound for pound. You don’t, for example, see the females doing iron crosses.
I just looked up the world record for the pole vault men’s and women’s. I guess you think the girls are just as good or maybe just a few inches less.
Well the actual difference is nearly 4 feet!
I bet if you asked 100 girls how close the men and women are in the pole vault, most would say about the same.
They have been told over and over again that girls can do anything men can do.
