I don't know how far left American Muslims vote. In the recent Presidential election in France, French Muslims voted 95% for the Socialist candidate, Francois Hollande.
Their vote has little to do with beliefs in the politics of the candidate - they will vote for the one who will weaken the will of those who oppose islam and who will pave the way for sharia.
