Equatorial Guinea sues France over corruption inquiry (must-read)

Equatorial Guinea has asked the International Court of Justice to order France to end a corruption inquiry into the oil-rich country's ruling family. The ICJ confirmed the move, but said France's consent to the court's jurisdiction was required. In July, Paris issued an arrest warrant for the son of Equatorial Guinea's leader on money-laundering charges.

An individual who was just there informed me the President has at least 6 PALACES built on the scale of buildings like that in Europe. His wife gets every third tanker of oil that comes out of the place. People are terrified to even look at any of the ruling family's vehicles when they pass by and waving of the hand at that time often results in death as security shoots whoever waves to make sure no gun is being brandished.

Is this the kind of rule we're going to end up with here? It appears that almost all of our higher level government officials have this kind of disparity in mind for the United States. They live like kings, we live like serfs and don't complain. If you do, you die.

I’ve lived in a 4th world country that we send millions of dollars in aid to. Operative word is “aid.” It’s to help develop the country. Where does it go? Directly into the Royal’s coffers to pay for their lifestyle. All foreign aid should be stopped. It’s nothing more than bribes and throwing money away...our hard earned tax dollars. Spend an evening with someone who works with the IMF to get a clue.
