OBAMA HAS TAXPAYERS FUNDING GRADUATE PROGRAMS IN UGANDA

The Obama administration wants U.S. taxpayers to finance the creation of energy-management doctorate and master’s degree programs at a university in the East African nation of Uganda.

Obama, through the U.S. Agency for International Development, wants to help “current and future Ugandan professionals” and others to develop expertise “in sound environmental management and biodiversity conservation in relation to oil and gas development.”

IndependentLivingBullion.com Before doing so, however, those same taxpayers and other interested parties have a chance to submit comments to USAID on the proposed endeavor.

The USAID/Uganda Education for Environmentally Sound Oil Management initiative, as it is known, plans to hire contractors to create Ph.D. and other post-graduate programs at Makerere University, Uganda’s largest institution of higher learning.

While the invitation for comments primarily is designed for contractors seeking clarification of the USAID project’s draft Statement of Work, or SOW, all members of the public may submit their suggestions or opinions. WND discovered the document during routine database research.

The oil industry views Uganda as Africa’s “hottest inland exploration frontier,” since the land-locked country contains “an estimated 2.5 billion barrels of known recoverable reserves, and an estimated potential of six billion barrels,” USAID points out in the draft SOW.

Challenges confront the development of the reserves because of their proximity to the Albertine Rift. The region is home to Murchison Falls National Park, “a popular tourist destination with sensitive habitat important for biodiversity conservation.”

An international treaty known as the Ramsar Convention has designated the Murchison Falls–Albert Delta Wetland System as a “Wetland of International Importance.”

Now we are funding higher education in Africa. Hey and let's destroy the environment while we are at it. Eco-nuts do not care about the environment. They just want to destroy the USA.

So will these Ugandans end up thinking what his supposed father thought - that we should be taxed 100%? I expect them to end up as friendly as the taliban.

Why is the house allowing this? How does this happen????

Well of course he does. Educations for ugandans, oil support money for brazillians, islands for argentines, arms for al quaeda. All about overcoming our past colonialist sins, redistributing our wealth to the peoples we screwed. obama is mentally ill.

Congress must act to stop it. Which is pointless as Reid rules the Senate.

because all those people who won’t vote for to get Obama out of office say so..... as well as those that actually vote for that fool.

Meanwhile, disabled veterans can’t get Social Security disability or VA disability.

“Congress must act to stop it. Which is pointless as Reid rules the Senate.”

Per the Constitution, appropriations and revenue bills must originate in the House. Boehner and his Republican House can stop spending by Obama anytime they want. This is not a Reid problem. The Senate neither appropriates funds on its own initiative nor can it force the House to appropriate money. What we have here is a failure of Republican leadership in the House. Mr. Boehner and his fellow Republicans choose to appropriate what the Dems want through continuing resolution rather than stand up for the voters and cut off the spending.

The founders intentionally gave the power of the purse to the House believing legislators having to stand for election every two years would be responsive to the people, not special interests. The Dems are free spenders but the Republicans have the power. They are the real enablers.

Wile true spending bills must originate in the House, if passed they must then be confirmed by the Senate and the President must sign it. Republicans have no chance of getting anything Zero does not like past the Senate. This is why there has been no budget for the last 3 years.

The problem is the Congress has legislated that the vast majority of budget shall automatically increase every year forever.

They can go to the mat. Pass a budget and refuse to play the Dem continuing resolution game. The Senate can either pass the budget or refuse. If it refuses, the government shuts down. If the Republicans hang tough the Dems will have to come to terms. Until the take a stand, they are merely enabling the current situation.

If the positions were reduced, the Dems would use the power.

I’ve given up for now on the Social Security. Put in for an increase in VA benefits about a year ago, might hear something late next year (no, I’m not kidding).

“Obama, .... wants to help “current and future Ugandan professionals” and others to develop expertise “in sound environmental management and biodiversity conservation in relation to oil and gas development.” “

Restricting oil production in Africa or any other country increases oil prices everywhere else. This use of U.S. taxpayer money has the effect of internationalizing the EPA, to squelch oil production both here and abroad so that fossil fuel prices will keep skyrocketing.
