Endorsements: Barack Obama for president
The Sacramento Bee ^ | October 14, 2012 | Editorial

Posted on 10/14/2012 5:55:08 AM PDT by Oldeconomybuyer

Voters often say they want their elected leaders to keep their promises and, at crucial moments, show real political backbone. President Barack Obama deserves a second term largely because he has delivered on both of these fronts.

... Obama – unruffled by Looney Tunes claims that he is a "socialist" and a "Marxist" – has pursued a consistent, moderate path that has pulled this country back from the brink and put it on a path toward recovery. In a second term, with just a little help from Congress, he could finish the job and pursue other priorities, including upgrading transportation infrastructure, reinvesting in higher education and making the United States a leader in clean energy technologies.

By contrast, Romney has been all over the map on climate change, health care reform and fiscal policy, and he seems determined to lead us into a costly war in Iran, regardless of the consequences.

We've seen this script before. We don't want it again. We'd urge you to return President Obama to the White House for a second term.

Voters often say they want their elected leaders to keep their promises

Obama came in with stealth, not tipping his hand about what he REALLY had in mind, although ANYONE could have looked to see his congressional voting record was to the LEFT of the only Socialist Party member of Congress. He came in the way all tyrants do - with catch-phrases and euphemisms to fool the ignorant and gullible.

Obama ran on pledges to end the war in Iraq...

It was pretty much wound down anyway and aren't we still stuck in Afghanistan?

...hunt down al-Qaida leaders...

The people in charge of these missions don't give Obama much credit.

...restore the nation's reputation in the world

What planet/drug is this author on?

he has strengthened our relationships with democratic allies

Certainly not with our #1 ally in the Middle East, Israel, who he treats as a nuisance if not with contempt.

foreign policy disasters created by the Bush administration...and [he] sent a clear message to dictators in the Arab-Muslim world that, unless they open up their societies, their people will rise up and end their rule.

Foreign policy disasters? Like our ambassador being killed in at the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya and Obama's disastrous follow up, first calling it a "protest" over an anti-Muslim YouTube video only later admitting it was a terrorist attack. His intelligence community is in shambles along with his lack of coherent explanation for why this was allowed to happen. Also another death, a security staffer, at another U.S. embassy in the Middle East, in Yemen. The Muslim Brotherhood now rules Egypt. International outlaw Iran continues its nuclear development unabated and unafraid of U.S. under Obama.

reform the health care system

Notice he wasn't forthright about HOW he was going to do this because socialist tyrants never tell you their plans for government takeover, except for in books like Hitler's Mein Kempf.

Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act

Another euphemism. This act takes the best healthcare system in the world and turns it into the DMV with waiting times for months just to get a routine doctor's appointment. (It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know this - it is the history and current conditions of countries with socialized medicine.) It will end up costing the American people much more in time and health. This act is not about health care - it's about socialist dictatorship.

Obama's modest "stimulus" package

Modest? Almost a trillion dollars unaccounted for, thrown down a Keynesian economic rathole? We are now $16 trillion in debt and on the brink of economic collapse. That's not modest. That's full-blown insanity.

Don't forget, his mentor for some 20 years, Reverend Wright, preached "God damn America." It seems we have an enemy in the White House. It is full-blown insanity to reelect someone who so obviously wants to "finish what he started" in "finishing off" our country. Why does he want to destroy America? Probably envy for one. But also very possibly so he can get a high-ranking position in the coming New World Order. (Don't forget the big picture here - Agenda 21, the U.N. plan, backed fully by Obama (see Executive Order # 13575 for example) to socialize the world.)

Also don’t forget that Grandpa set him up with a “genuine black man” as a mentor from age 10 to 18, a man who was a card-carrrying radical communist investigated by the federal government for his direct connections to the USSR.

Didn’t know that. Who is/was “Grandpa” and who is/was this mentor?

"Grandpa" was his maternal grandfather, Stanley Anne Dunham's father. The mentor was Frank Marshall Davis...

Jerry (The Moron) Brown for a SECOND time!

As if he didn’t do enough damage the first time around.

His WONDERFULLY novel approach to solving problems (eg “If we don’t build any more freeways, people will stop coming to California - ergo overpopulation problem solved!”)

This state has developed a terminal case of Libtard disease and I seriously doubt that it will ever recover.

This editorial by the SB (or is that BS?) is proof positive just how TOTALLY unrealistic and immature the majority population of this once great state has become.

FACTS be DAMNED - “We ARE going to create nirvana on the Left Coast no matter WHAT the cost!!!”

SO SO SO sad to watch .......

Attempting to create nirvana always ends up creating 1984.

His mentor was Frank Marshall Davis. Get “The Communist” by Paul Kengor. Davis’ background is just shocking, and to think he is only one step removed from the White House is simply unbelievable. I’m about half-way through the book and just aghast at what I’ve learned about this man who taught our president.

Of course, these days, our young skulls full of mush are taught that communism is just another alternative lifestyle and we cannot be judgmental about other cultures and ways of life. The younger generation has no concept of the pure evils wrought by Marx, Lenin, Trotsky, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Ho Chi Minh, et al.

The Sacramento Bee is little more than a Democrat [Socialist] Party newsletter.
